Medical Receptionist/Call Center
SUMMARY:
A Call Center Representative takes calls from patients in a professional and polite manner. Their duties include
handling many inbound and outbound calls to and from patients, scheduling appointments and answering or
forwarding inquiries to the proper departments

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting patients professionally on the phone
- Take patient calls and provide accurate, satisfactory responses to patients needs
- Schedule patient appointments efficiently according to Doctor & Provider availability.
- Explain new patient requirements including where to access forms
- De-escalate situations involving dissatisfied patients, offering patient assistance and support
- Call back patients that select a call back instead of waiting in the cue.
- Monitor calls coming in to ensure calls are being handled quickly
- Work hours scheduled which can include evenings and weekends.
- All medical questions and triage calls are transferred to the triage nurse (And or generating a message via our EMR system).
- Note in OP miscellaneous notes any instructions or requests on behalf of the patient
- Process credit card payments made over the phone through Phreesia
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATONS:
- Strong communication, both written and verbal
- Great active listening
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Comfortable working in a fast paced environment
- Computer literacy
- EMR experience. Specifically Office Practicum
- Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems
- Expertise in customer service within the healthcare industry
- Ability to speak multiple languages, especially Spanish and Portuguese
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cross Trained in all aspects of Front desk including check in and check out

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma
- 1-2 Years experience working in a busy medical practice
WORK SCHEDULE
- Monday – Friday: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm
- Select weekend assistance on a needed basis
