Health & Wellness During the COVID-19 Pandemic at a Pediatric Doctor’s Office
With the onset of the COVID-19, our staff at The Center of Pediatric Medicine understands that you may be hesitant to bring your child to a pediatric doctor’s office. Have no fear! All of our practices are disinfected and well sanitized after every patient visit. The health and safety of your child is our #1 priority, and we’re taking all the necessary precautions to ensure your child experiences a safe wellness or sick visit.
All of our practices have implemented key safety modifications to ensure the safety of patients and parents. Patient waiting rooms have been closed and have since been replaced with patients calling the office once they’ve arrived in the parking lot to reduce contact with others. A new texting system is currently being implemented to expedite the new contactless check-in process. Virtual check-ups are also available by appointment, so your child can receive health and wellness advice from home.
Whether it be virtually or following COVID-19 guidelines and procedures in our pediatric doctor’s office, your child should continue attending wellness visits and come to the doctor if they are sick. Wellness visits ensure that children are up to date on necessary vaccines, including kids flu shots, and are developing properly. These visits also include important patient education sessions in which both patients and parents can address specific concerns or questions they may have.
If your child is sick and experiencing symptoms like a runny nose, cough, or sore throat, it is important that you bring them in for a sick visit. All of our providers have time allocated in their daily schedules to see sick children, and all of our doctors and nurses want to do everything they can to ensure your child gets better as quickly as possible. At CFPM, we are prepared with the right supplies and medications to treat a range of illnesses, including fever, pain, respiratory and eye infections, and more. Our in-house laboratories are available to provide patient tests, including strep, flu, and hemoglobin. Never hesitate to bring your child in if you notice any symptoms, as it is our goal to provide high quality care to patients of all situations.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that your child is still receiving their wellness and sick visits when necessary to ensure their health. All of our practices are following COVID-19 procedures and guidelines during patient visits and new parent classes. The Center for Pediatric Medicine’s high quality care makes it the best pediatric doctors office in New Fairfield, CT and the greater Danbury area.
